Panasonic HDC-TM55K camcorder review

Another nice camcorder comes our way with the Panasonic HDC-TM55K, showing us that surprising possibilities can come from all over, even where you might not expect them. The Panasonic HDC-TM55K camcorder offers up a 35x Intelligent Zoom system (basically a slightly augmented 25x optical zoom from what I can tell), a powered Optical Image Stabilization system, 35.7mm Wide Angle Lens, face recognition, eight gigs of onboard storage, recording in 1080p capability, five megapixel still image capture (letting this function as both still camera and camcorder), 2.7 inch widescreen LCD touchscreen, support for SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards, and an Intelligent Auto mode to adjust settings according to conditions.

It’s a nice setup, overall, with a decent if slightly shorter than normal zoom (looks like just under a hundred feet), and the controls shouldn’t be too tough to get used to–a bit of a learning curve, but otherwise pretty simple to work with.

So it’s a nice solid value that won’t break the bank yet still offer up solid performance. If you’re looking for a new camcorder, you’ll definitely want to pick up a Panasonic HDC-TM55K to see if it’s what you want.
