Sharukh khan ‘D’ tattoo for Deepika Padukone

Months before there started some questions and rumors about a tattoo “D” on Shah Rukh Khan’s arm. Now the mystery has been solved about that ‘D’ tattoo on Shah Rukh Khan’s arm. The Khan who is not fond of tattoos is more than happy to flaunt it, but what does ‘D’ stands for? Ask SRK, and he will show his wit. Known for his sense of humour, Khan loves to give witty replies to the questioned tossed at him. The star is constantly being asked what the tattoo ‘D’ stands for, and he replies, “It’s for Deepika Padukone!” His wonderful Om Shanti Om co-star.

However, this ‘D’ is a mehendi tattoo which looks like a permanent one and it is for his upcoming action thriller Don 2. So ‘D’ stands for Don, once the star is done with the film, the tattoo will be gone. Till that time Deepika can enjoy all the attention.

whats new in Deols’ new yamla pagla dewanna

In the late 80s-early 90s, Dharmendra did a slew of B-grade films that had the then 50-plus actor at the focal point. The actor did his thing – bashed up bad guys and went over-the-top with his comedy – while the masses loved it and his producers made a small profit too. In YPD, Dharam is back in a similar space. The role of a conman, who’s low on morals and doesn’t think twice before abandoning his family, allows him to get into 'kameena' mode unabashedly.

In today's times when films like No Problem and Tees Mar Khan proclaim to be synonym for sheer entertainment, Yamla Pagla Deewana gives us hope that no brainers can still be made using some grey cells. Only audience doesn’t need to use them as often and the Deol men make sure they walk happy back home.

YPD (Yamla Pagla Deewana) is the story of a Vancouver-based banker Paramveer (Sunny Deol) who wants to reunite with his long-lost father Dharam (Dharmendra) and his younger brother Gajodhar (Bobby Deol).

But there is a slight problem. The father and son are the biggest conmen in Banaras. Still, they willingly accept Paramveer into their fold but only to exploit his muscle power to serve their con games.

Meanwhile Gajodhar falls in love with Sahiba (Kulraj Randhawa), a beautiful 'Punjabi mutiyaar'. As their romance reaches its peak, her brothers arrive and forcibly take her away.

Paramveer saves the day with a crazy plan to win the girl back for Gajodhar which leads them to the rustic heartlands of Punjab.

What follows is a rollercoaster ride showcasing the Great Indian Joint Family, Eccentric Relatives, Marriage Mayhem, and a classic case of Mistaken Identities!

The entire film is an ode to the Deol charisma of the yore and manages to recreate it despite a clumsy first-part and a bit slow script by Jasvinder Singh Bath, who gave a bit too much screen time to Bobby's Gajodhar.

Director Samir Karnik needed to spruce up the first half though the story redeems itself post-interval when the action shifts from Banaras to Punjab.

As three brawny charmers, Deols cover-up narrative's flip side with their rustic, earthy Punjabi humor and impeccable chemistry. It’s an adorable combination of a gentle hulk, a prankster lover-boy and a seasoned thespian.

Despite Sunny and Bobby’s funny antics it is yet garam Dharam’s vintage magic which grabs the most eyeballs. His histrionics are still smooth as an old wine and make the movie a fun watch.

Kulraj Randhawa is pleasant. Sucheta Khanna as her Canada-loving cousin is funny. Anupam Kher makes you laugh as usual at times. Mukul Dev gets the best one-liners. Johny Lever is funny in a brief role. Nafisa Ali is graceful as ever and Amit Mistry does well.

What YPD really lacks is the crisper writing and the better music though Tinku Jiya the item song is a big hit.

All in all, Yamla Pagla Deewana is an age-old lost-and-found tale with which Deol men will finally find that one elusive hit and their box-office charisma which they seemed to have lost over the years.

Director: Samir Karnik

Cast: Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Kulraj Randhawa and Anupam Kher

Already Slumdog Millionaire has launched the Hollywood careers of Freida Pinto and Anil Kapoor. Now veteran actor Irrfan Khan is set to join that list, as it's being reported that he will play a villain in Spider-Man Reboot, set to release in 2012. The Hollywood Reporter said that Khan will be playing a character named Van Atter, who may have "Khan, best known for his work in Slumdog Millionaire, is playing a villain named Nels Van Atter, who transforms into the 'proto-goblin', a monstrous baddie with super speed, super agility and super strength.

Anushka Sharma main Role In Band Baaja Baraat

Anushka sharma played a simple girl next door in RAB NE BANA DI JODI. Then she got into an altogether different zone by becoming Ms. Smart in BADMAASH COMPANY. Now in her upcoming release BAND BAAJA BAARAAT, she has completely transformed her personality by turning into someone who is just not polished enough to make a style statement.

“That’s right, I couldn’t have afforded to be a proper girl here”, she smiles, “She is just not polished enough and the way she speaks English is also not proper.

She is so ‘alhad’ that she didn’t even hold back chewing or coughing while she was talking. This character is someone who didn’t care about the way she walked, looked or behaved.”

Due to the Delhi setting of the film, there is a certain dialogue delivery which one can see is pretty much standing out in this Yash Raj production. One can well believe that Anushka must have prepared for that considering the fact that contrary to popular perception, she is neither a Delhi girl nor a Punjabi in real life

“Thank you so much of pointing this out, otherwise I would have been forever tagged as a Punjabi”, laughs Anushka, “See, I was lucky that both the director as well as the writer are from Delhi. There is a lot of Delhi in the script and I had to learn the gestures and the dialogues. I had to learn to speak in a particular way. I had to cut out the pauses and go on and on. There is an altogether different manner in which people speak in Bangalore (from where she comes), Mumbai (where she works now) and Delhi (where the film is set). I had to study those nuances well and deliver.”

Priyanka back in ‘Krissh 3’

The entire buzz about Krissh 3 was right, the movie will roll early next year and Priyanka Chopra will be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan once again. Though there were rumours that the actress is not being considered for the sequel, reports are on that Priyanka is finalized for the film. She will continue her character of a reporter as the movie will take forward the story where Krissh left. Roshans were toying with the idea of Krissh sequel for the last four years but nothing concrete happened. Now, as they have moved on from the debacle of Kites, making Krissh 3 is prime on their plans.
